Meet the Team
Pauline uses acupuncture, herbs, nutrition, self-acupressure and meditation to work holistically with people facing cancer as well as various other complex illnesses and conditions. In addition to her Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture diplomas, she has also earned a 3-year Master's Degree in TCM Oncology from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, and an Honours Bachelor in Cognitive Neuroscience from McGill University. She is the founder and Clinical Director of Hillgreen Oncology Acupuncture & Herbs and has been active in community health and social justice for over 20 years.
Rian uses acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping and sound therapy alongside West African indigenous healing and counselling methods to support and strengthen individuals, families and communities’ felt sense of health and wellness. In practice from 2014, he has a general family practice focusing on treating digestive issues, pain conditions, stress and anxiety, fertility and women’s and men’s health as well as spiritual concerns. Rian has also been successful in providing support for those receiving various forms of cancer care. He has also worked for a number of years as a teacher, caregiver and educator for children and youth in low income neighbourhoods.
Carmen is a Registered Acupuncturist who works with her patients to develop comprehensive and personalized treatment plans that holistically restore their physical, emotional and mental well-being. Her professional background includes practicing as a Registered Nurse in Spain for over 10 years, during which time she offered her services to the oncology, cardiology, internal medicine, community health, and intensive care units, as well as volunteering in Africa (Guinea Bissau). Carmen aims not only relieve her patient’s symptoms, but treat the underlying root cause of the disease as well.
Shawn is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R. TCMP) and Acupuncturist (R. Ac). After completing his Bachelor of Science degree at McGill University, his interest in East Asian medicine led him to study the Advanced Program of TCM at Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TSTCM). Through volunteer work at the Dorothy Ley Hospice, he came to realize how much East-West integrative medicine has to offer cancer patients. He has also learned advanced techniques such as Master Tung’s and Zhu’s acupuncture and treats a wide variety of conditions. With treatment personalized to each patient’s need, he seeks to improve patients’ quality of life to their maximum.
