Did you know there’s a famous Chinese herb for energy and immunity?
Well there are more than one, but this one is called Huang Qi or Astragalus root.
What is Huang Qi used for?
Herbalists have used Huang Qi for thousands of years. Traditionally it is used as a a tonic. That means it strengthens the body, and can help with increasing energy, stamina, and vitality. It can strengthen the immune system and reduce fatigue.
In modern times, researchers have studied Huang Qi for its anti-cancer effects, in stomach, colon, liver, ovarian, breast, and other cancers. They’ve found that the use of Huang Qi based formulas is associated with longer lifespan in various cancers (such as leukemia and breast cancer), and with better quality of life in metastatic cancers.
Furthermore, researchers have also examined what Huang Qi does alongside certain chemotherapies. Many studies have found it can reduce side effects, e.g. neuropathy, nausea/vomiting, and low blood counts.
